About
For nearly 25 years, the Australian Made, Australian Grown Campaign has been helping consumers to exercise their preference for buying Australian, and promoting Australian products in Australia and markets around the world.
The famous green and gold trade mark was launched in 1986 and is now the most trusted and recognised products symbol for Australia. Research shows that 94% of Australian consumers recognise the logo and that 85% trust it over any other country of origin logos such as maps, flags and the words "Australian Made".
Since 1999, the campaign has been administered by Australian Made Campaign Limited (AMCL), a not-for-profit public company set up by its foundation members, the Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the network of State and Territory chambers. AMCL is governed by a board.
In June 2007, the Campaign introduced a new descriptor for the logo, adding Australian Grown to the two existing descriptors, Australian Made and Product of Australia. Australian Grown was launched with federal government support on June 1, 2007.
The famous logo, instantly recognised by consumers as a symbol for Australia, has received strong backing from the fresh and packaged produce industry as an effective way to identify Australian grown goods.
In 2008, the National Farmers Federation was welcomed as a foundation member.
The Campaign continues to attract attention from consumers, business and media. The number of licensees joining the Campaign is increasing at a record rate and consumer trust in the logo is unmatched. More than 10,000 products now carry the logo and the number grows every day.
